Marathi is a very popular beach, while the calm and shallow waters make this an ideal destination for families with children. Also, this is one of the few beaches of northern Crete that faces the south, so that you can have a perfect afternoon tan without having to turn your back towards the sea. For the most daring, there is a small rocky islet 600 meters off the coast and you may either swim there or visit by renting a sea bicycle or kayak from beach.
